Who We Are

Al Matn Organisation for Environmental and Sustainable Development MESD is an organisation born with the aim to protect biodiversity in Ras El Matn and the surrounding areas, to support sustainability, and strengthen the relationship people have with one another, with nature and with their environment.

MESD is a nonprofit, nonpolitical association established in Lebanon in 2017 and licensed by the Ministry of Interior under decision number 1609.

To develop sustainable projects that protect the environment through awareness and capacity building programs that reinforce the sense of belonging to mother nature.

To preserve nature, its elements and wealth, through awareness and by promoting the necessary environmental culture.
To address urgent environmental challenges through contributing to the preparation of environmental research and studies and translating them to action-based workshops at the local level.
To develop special environmental protection policies through drafting proposals and recommendations.
To contribute to the Arab, regional, and international activities on environmental issues such as pollution and threats and means of protection of natural resources.
